University of Rawalpindi Participates in National Seminar on International Literacy Day 2026

Dr. Saniya Moazzam represented University of Rawalpindi at the National Seminar on International Literacy Day 2026, held at Zaki Auditorium, Academic Complex, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, on 8 September 2026.

The seminar was organized by the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) in collaboration with UNESCO, JICA-AQAL, and other partner organizations under the theme “Literacy for People, the Planet, and Prosperity.” The event brought together senior representatives from education and development organizations, educationists, development professionals, and representatives of educational institutions.

Discussions at the seminar highlighted the importance of literacy, lifelong learning, and inclusive education, with a focus on collaborative approaches to strengthening literacy and community participation. The sessions also provided insights into the role universities can play in supporting education and human development initiatives.

The seminar provided an opportunity for University of Rawalpindi to explore avenues for institutional collaboration and student engagement in literacy and community development initiatives, including Each One Teach One (EOTO). Such initiatives can encourage students to contribute to community learning while developing a stronger sense of social responsibility.

University of Rawalpindi remains committed to creating opportunities for students and faculty to engage with national education and community development initiatives. Through participation in such platforms, UOR continues to support efforts that promote inclusive learning, lifelong education, and meaningful community engagement.
