you have applied for or been offered to.
1. MERIT‑BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Merit-based scholarships are awarded to incoming students
based on their Intermediate (or equivalent) percentage.
Once granted, a merit scholarship continues
throughout the degree,
provided the student meets and maintains
the required minimum CGPA each semester.
If their CGPA falls below the threshold
for their tier, they will be “shifted down” to the
next lower waiver tier or forfeit the award if falling below all thresholds.
Notes on Availability:
- Students must apply before the priority deadline (July 15).
- Tier I (90% +): Limited number, awarded on a first-come, first-served basis
- Tier II (80–89.99%): Limited number, first-come, first-served basis
- Tier III (70–79.99%): Unlimited (no cap on awards)
1.1. Tier I: 90% and Above in Intermediate
- Tuition Fee Waiver: 100% (full waiver)
- Number of Awards: Limited – allocated first-come, first-served at each intake
- Minimum CGPA to Maintain: 3.85 each semester
- If semester CGPA ≥ 3.85: Continues at Tier I (100%) next semester.
- If semester CGPA ≥ 3.70 but < 3.85: Shifted to Tier II (50%) next semester.
- If semester CGPA ≥ 3.50 but < 3.70: Shifted to Tier III (25%) next semester.
- If semester CGPA < 3.50: Merit scholarship is withdrawn.
1.2. Tier II: 80 – 89.99% in Intermediate
- Tuition Fee Waiver: 50%
- Number of Awards: Limited – allocated first-come, first-served at each intake
- Minimum CGPA to Maintain: 3.70 each semester
- If semester CGPA ≥ 3.70: Continues at Tier II (50%) next semester.
- If semester CGPA ≥ 3.50 but < 3.70: Shifted to Tier III (25%) next semester.
- If semester CGPA < 3.50: Merit scholarship is withdrawn.
1.3. Tier III: 70 – 79.99% in Intermediate
- Tuition Fee Waiver: 25%
- Number of Awards: Unlimited (no cap)
- Minimum CGPA to Maintain: 3.50 each semester
- If semester CGPA ≥ 3.50:Continues at Tier III (25%) next semester.
- If semester CGPA < 3.50: Merit scholarship is withdrawn.
2. EXCELLENCE AWARD
Excellence Award is given to students whose semester GPA falls into one of three tiers. Tied solely to current semester GPA.

Eligibility Conditions:
- Must be a full‑time, regularly enrolled undergraduate student.
- No failed courses or disciplinary action in the qualifying semester.
3. SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The University of Rawalpindi offers a range of
scholarships and tuition waivers to promote
inclusive education and support deserving students.
In addition to family‐based concessions, we provide
assistance for orphans, as well as early‐admission discounts.
3.1 Need-Based Scholarship
- Awarded to students who
demonstrate financial hardship
and waiver amount varies from case-to-case
- Notes on Availability: Requires final approval
by the Scholarship Committee of the university
3.2 Sibling Scholarship
- 20% Tuition Fee Waiver for second and onward siblings enrolled
3.3 Hafiz-e-Qur’an Scholarship
- 20 % Tuition Fee Waiver for students who are certified hafiz-ul-Quran
3.4 Orphans & Regional Waivers
- 20 % Tuition Fee Waiver for Orphans
- 20 % Tuition Fee Waiver for Students from Ex-FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan
3.5 Early Bird Discount
- 10% Tuition Fee Waiver on degree upon admission
before the priority deadline of 15th July
General Notes
- A student may hold only one scholarship or waiver at a time.
If multiple waivers apply, the highest-value benefit is granted
- Scholarships and waivers may be revoked if a student:
- Violates the University’s Disciplinary Guidelines or Code of Conduct
- Fails to maintain the required academic standards or satisfactory progress
- Fails to comply with all University policies
- Recipients may occasionally be invited to share a testimonial for outreach campaign
- The university reserves the right to change
or amend the scholarship policy from time to time, as and when required
