University of Rawalpindi Organizes Rescue 1122 Training and Awareness Session
University of Rawalpindi organized a Rescue 1122 Training and Awareness Session on 29 October 2026 to strengthen students’ awareness of emergency response, fire safety, and basic life-saving practices. Conducted under the supervision of Dr. Saniya Moazzam, Assistant Professor, the activity was organized as part of the Civics and Community Engagement course and provided students with practical knowledge relevant to safety and responsible citizenship.
The session commenced at the Seminar Hall, where students received guidance on emergency preparedness, appropriate response procedures, fire safety, and essential life-saving practices. The training continued at the Outdoor Ground with a practical demonstration by Rescue 1122 personnel, who explained key fire safety procedures and demonstrated the correct use of a fire extinguisher.
By combining classroom-based guidance with hands-on demonstrations, the activity enabled students to connect academic learning with practical community safety practices. The session also reinforced the importance of preparedness, responsible citizenship, and knowing how to respond effectively during emergencies.
Through initiatives such as this, the University of Rawalpindi continues to promote experiential learning and student development beyond the classroom, equipping students with practical skills that contribute to a safer, more aware, and prepared university community.
