University of Rawalpindi Joins Pakistan Türkiye Higher Education Discussions
University of Rawalpindi (UOR) participated in key academic engagements during the three day visit of an 18 member Turkish higher education delegation to Pakistan, led by Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE), Türkiye.
Representing UOR, Dr. Muhammad Abubakar, Chairman, University of Rawalpindi, joined higher education leaders and university representatives from Pakistan and Türkiye at the Türkiye Pakistan Universities Forum in Islamabad and a high level meeting at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Secretariat, Islamabad.
The Türkiye Pakistan Universities Forum explored practical areas for strengthening cooperation between universities, including student and faculty exchange, internships, summer programmes, joint degree opportunities, research collaboration, publications, workshops and conferences.
At the HEC meeting, discussions focused on strengthening academic partnerships, research cooperation, student and faculty mobility, and inter university linkages, with particular attention to emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Biotechnology.
For University of Rawalpindi, these engagements provided an opportunity to connect with academic leaders from Türkiye and Pakistan, exchange perspectives and explore areas of shared interest in academic collaboration, research and institutional partnerships.
The discussions contributed to broader academic dialogue between the two countries and highlighted opportunities for universities to build stronger connections that can support knowledge exchange and future opportunities for students, faculty and researchers.
