Dr. Muhammad Abubakar, Chairman, Board of Governors & Rector, University of Rawalpindi, participated as a panelist at the Young CEOs, Entrepreneurs & Innovators Summit, Expo & Awards (YES 2026), held at Bahria University, Islamabad, on 21 October 2026. During the panel discussion, “Universities as Catalysts for Future Entrepreneurship,” academic and industry leaders explored the evolving role of higher education institutions in fostering entrepreneurial thinking, encouraging innovation, and preparing students for emerging economic opportunities.

The discussion highlighted the importance of moving beyond traditional classroom learning to develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and stronger connections between academia and industry. Such approaches can help equip graduates to translate knowledge into meaningful solutions, whether through entrepreneurship or innovation within existing organisations. The summit brought together academic leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and industry representatives for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and recognition of entrepreneurial achievements.

University of Rawalpindi remains committed to strengthening university–industry linkages, promoting experiential learning, and empowering students with the skills and confidence to contribute to Pakistan's entrepreneurial and economic development.
