UOR QEC Conducts Workshop on Responsible AI in Teaching and Research
Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), University of Rawalpindi, successfully organized the second workshop under its Faculty Development Program on Monday, 10 August 2026.
Titled “Responsible AI in Teaching and Research: Ethics, Academic Integrity, and Effective Prompt Writing,” the workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Fahim Arif, Dean, Department of Computing and Intelligence Systems.
The interactive session provided faculty members with practical guidance on the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in teaching, assessment, and academic research. Key principles discussed included transparency, fairness, privacy, accountability, and human oversight.
Faculty members also explored important challenges associated with AI in academia, including plagiarism, algorithmic bias, misinformation, fabricated references, privacy risks, and overreliance on AI-generated content. The session highlighted the importance of responsible student use of AI and careful verification of AI-generated information.
Through hands-on activities, practical scenarios, and prompt-writing exercises, participants identified ethical risks, reviewed academic integrity cases, and practiced developing effective prompts to generate relevant and subject-specific responses.
The workshop reflects QEC’s continued commitment to faculty development, academic integrity, and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies in higher education, supporting faculty members in navigating the evolving role of AI in academic teaching and research.
