UOR Participates in Conference on Green Journalism and Climate Communication
University of Rawalpindi (UOR) participated in the Conference on Green Journalism: Media, Climate, and Societal Responsibility, held on 11 June 2026 at the COMSTECH Auditorium, Islamabad. Organized by COMSTECH in collaboration with the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, the conference brought together academics, media professionals, environmental experts, researchers, and policymakers to discuss the role of journalism in addressing climate change and promoting environmental sustainability.
Representing UOR, Dr. Saniya Moazzam attended the conference, which explored key themes including climate communication, environmental advocacy, media ethics, digital engagement, and the integration of Green Journalism into higher education. Participants emphasized the importance of accurate, evidence-based reporting and the role of academic institutions in fostering environmental awareness and responsible citizenship.
The conference also provided opportunities for academic networking, knowledge exchange, and discussions on future collaborations in sustainability education and environmental communication. UOR’s participation reflects the university’s commitment to engaging with contemporary global challenges and promoting awareness of sustainability through education, research, and community engagement.
