The Department of Pharmacy at University of Rawalpindi (UOR) successfully organized a seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacy” on 15 May 2026. The session aimed to create awareness among students regarding the growing role of artificial intelligence in pharmaceutical sciences, healthcare, and research.
The keynote speaker for the seminar was Syed Zaki Husain Rizvi, assistant professor at Iqra University and a distinguished Fulbright Fellow with expertise in pharmaceutical sciences. During the session, Dr. Rizvi discussed the applications of artificial intelligence in areas such as drug discovery, formulation development, personalized medicine, pharmacovigilance, clinical decision-making, and healthcare data analysis. He also highlighted the future potential of AI in transforming pharmaceutical education, research, and industry practices.
A key highlight of the seminar was the interactive question-and-answer session, where students actively engaged with the speaker and explored topics including AI reliability in healthcare, ethical considerations, and career opportunities in AI-integrated pharmaceutical sciences. Dr. Rizvi shared practical examples and international research insights, encouraging students to develop analytical, technological, and research-oriented skills relevant to the future of healthcare.
The seminar concluded with the presentation of a shield of appreciation to the guest speaker and a formal vote of thanks by the organizing committee. The event reflected UOR’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, emerging technologies, and industry-relevant learning opportunities for students.
