University of Rawalpindi Participates in United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva
University of Rawalpindi (UOR) proudly participated in the inaugural United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 6–7 July 2026. Representing UOR at this prestigious international forum was Dr.Muhammad Abubakar, Chairman, Board of Governors and Rector.
The United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance brought together leaders from governments, international organisations, universities, industry, civil society and the technical community to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance, responsible AI, AI ethics, digital inclusion, human rights, transparency, and trustworthy AI systems.
As artificial intelligence continues to transform education, healthcare, business and public services, discussions focused on ensuring AI is developed and deployed responsibly through effective governance, accountability, meaningful human oversight and international collaboration.
For University of Rawalpindi, participation in this global dialogue reflects more than international representation—it demonstrates a long-term commitment to advancing responsible AI in higher education. UOR is actively strengthening initiatives in AI literacy, responsible AI adoption, academic integrity, institutional capacity building, and international collaboration.
