University of Rawalpindi (UOR) officially launched the Mentoring Program for Universities (MPU) under the framework of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the National Academy of Higher Education. The initiative aims to strengthen mentorship, leadership development, professional growth, and an inclusive academic culture within higher education institutions. The program is designed to support faculty members, management staff, and students through structured mentor-mentee engagement and capacity-building activities.

During the launch session, Dr. Muhammad Abu Bakar, Rector University of Rawalpindi, highlighted the importance of mentorship in promoting academic excellence, leadership, ethical values, and continuous institutional development. He emphasized the need to create future-ready educational environments through collaboration, professional learning, and guidance. A mentor-mentee agreement signing ceremony was also held, formally marking the commencement of mentoring relationships under the MPU framework.

The session was chaired by Dr. Abdul Waheed and focused on key themes of the MPU framework, including inclusivity, diversity, communication skills, leadership development, professionalism, and ethical mentoring practices. The event concluded with a collective commitment to fostering a strong mentorship culture and creating meaningful opportunities for professional and personal development within the university community.
