University of Rawalpindi successfully organised the National Financial Literacy Awareness Workshop for Youth (NFLP-Y) on 30th December 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the UOR Seminar Hall.
The workshop was organised by Dr Rubab Tahir, Department of Applied Business and Economics, in collaboration with the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The session was conducted by Mr Salman Shehzad, Project Director, and the National Financial Literacy Program for Youth (NFLP-Y), SBP.
Students from the Department of Applied Business and Economics, the Department of Digital Design and Computer Arts, and the Department of Psychology participated in the workshop. The session focused on enhancing students’ understanding of essential financial concepts, including budgeting, saving, responsible borrowing, banking products, and financial planning.
The event was graced by Dr Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Associate Professor and Academics Director at Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University, as the Guest of Honour. In his keynote address, he emphasised the importance of financial literacy for youth and its role in promoting sustainable economic development and informed decision-making.
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony. Souvenirs and certificates were presented to the trainer and the guest of honour in recognition of their valuable contributions. The initiative reflects UOR’s commitment to equipping students with practical life skills alongside academic learning.
