The activity was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Saniya Moazzam, Faculty In-Charge, and involved students from the Departments of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science (DDCA), Business Administration (BBA), and Psychology.
The workshop aimed to enhance students’ emergency preparedness, civic responsibility, and community engagement by equipping them with essential life-saving skills. Rescue 1122 professionals provided hands-on training and demonstrations focusing on basic first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), fire safety measures, and emergency evacuation procedures.
During the session, Rescue 1122 officials shared real-life experiences from emergency and disaster-response operations, highlighting the importance of teamwork, discipline, quick decision-making, and public service in critical situations. Students actively participated in practical activities, making the session highly interactive and informative.
Dr. Saniya Moazzam coordinated the workshop and ensured that the learning outcomes of the Civics and Community Engagement course were effectively achieved. The initiative reflects UOR’s commitment to experiential learning and its emphasis on preparing socially responsible graduates capable of contributing positively to society.
Such training programs play a vital role in strengthening students’ awareness of public safety and emergency management. The University plans to continue organizing similar workshops in collaboration with professional emergency services to further enhance students’ practical skills and confidence.
