University of Rawalpindi (UOR) observed the International Day of Education 2026 on 24 January, under the global theme “The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education.” The day is observed worldwide under the leadership of UNESCO, following its proclamation by the United Nations General Assembly, and was organized at the university level by the Community Impact Society.
The activity highlighted the role of students as active partners in shaping inclusive, student-centered, and impactful education. Students were encouraged to share their perspectives on education, community engagement, and youth leadership.
As part of the observance, a Pledge Wall was set up on campus where students wrote their ideas, commitments, and recommendations on how education can be redesigned to be more inclusive and socially responsive. Faculty members also visited the Pledge Wall, interacted with students, and shared insights, fostering meaningful dialogue and reinforcing education as a collaborative process.
The initiative promoted student voice, ownership, and shared responsibility in building the future of education.
